The MVP2 Project/Program Awards, P2 Champion, and Best P2 Multimedia Awards are open to all stakeholders (all levels of government, industry, non-profits, etc.). The awards are designed to recognize outstanding and innovative P2 projects/programs. As in years past, awards are judged on the following five broad criteria: innovation, measurable results, transferability, commitment, and optimization of avail-able project resources.

WBNR: Tuesday, July 7th (1:00am-2:15am): Safer Alternatives to Copper Antifouling Paints “The Shell Game Must Stop!”
Find out about the newly published results of an EPA-funded study that identifies the newest paints and application methods for creating a cleaner, safer marine environment. To identify, test, demonstrate and promote the use of safer, innovative non-biocide alternatives to copper antifouling coatings, EPA awarded a grant to the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC). Many of the results are transferable to other marinas in the country.

This webinar will provide an overview and demonstrate tools to model and calculate the benefits of alternative end of life waste management comparisons, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and energy consumption associated with purchasing and manufacturing activities using baseline and alternate recycled content scenarios. The webinar will be hosted by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and features a presentation by the U.S. EPA, and Office of Resource Conservation and Recovery.
