Community Capitals Framework Institute

The 2014 Community Capitals Framework Institute, sponsored by the Heartland Center for Leadership Development, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and South Dakota State University, will focus broadly on issues related to water management, drought planning, public health in rural communities, urban neighborhoods ecotourism and rural and community development that are employing the Community Capitals Framework. Please note there is a fee for attending this conference.

Advancing Sustainability: Organizing for Success, Setting Goals, and Measuring Progress

Many companies are advancing comprehensive sustainability programs and expanding sustainability expectations throughout their value chain. These programs can help engage employees, drive innovation and build a competitive advantage. Ron Meissen will provide an overview of Baxter’s sustainability program, including Baxter’s executive-level sustainability steering committee, global sustainability priorities and 2015 goals, example of the annual goal setting process and discuss team member responsibilities/accountability

Recyclers across the U.S. are confronted with the realities of the changing waste stream, and the broader range of recyclables collected in single stream recycling programs – all at the same time that global markets are constricting.   This ultimately trickles down to local community recycling programs, including the need for robust public education and outreach efforts, and changes in recycling partnerships.

P2 InfoHouse: This is a searchable online collection of more than 50,000 pollution prevention related publications, fact sheets, case studies and technical reports. It’s the largest single electronic resource for P2 information in the country.
