Introduction to the State Electronics Challenge

The State Electronics Challenge is a voluntary national program, open free of charge any state, tribal, regional, or local government agency, as well as any K-12 school or non-profit organization. The SEC promotes environmental stewardship of computers, monitors, and imaging equipment — from purchasing green office equipment through power management, paper use reduction, and responsible end-of-life management — resulting in measurable reductions in energy, greenhouse gases, solid and hazardous waste, and associated costs.

Finding Your MVPs: Building and Maintaining an Internal Green Team

High-functioning green teams are capable of rapidly advancing greening initiatives within sports teams and venues by disseminating information, gaining buy-in, and implementing effective processes with much greater efficiency than would otherwise be possible—while overcoming inevitable challenges like staff turnover and tight budgets. Carbon dioxide doesn’t need to be a dirty word. Join Sam Rushing from Advanced Cryogenics as he explores some of the commercial applications that can exist for recaptured CO2, including industrial cleaning, fumigation and supercritical extraction. He will also examine the growing market for these services.
