This fall we will be introduced to the completely renovated ISO 14001:2015 environmental management system – the one with that “risk-based thinking.” The new approach to environmental management will facilitate the move from compliance and process improvement to a new focus on meeting organizational objectives over the long term (sounds a little like “sustainability”).

Introduction to the State Electronics Challenge
The State Electronics Challenge is a national program, open free of charge any state, tribal, regional, or local government agency, as well as any K-12 school, college, university or non-profit organization. The SEC promotes environmental stewardship of computers, monitors, and imaging equipment — from purchasing green office equipment through power management, paper use reduction, and responsible end-of-life management — resulting in measurable reductions in energy, greenhouse gases, solid and hazardous waste, and associated costs.

Making Plastic Greener Through Next Generation Polymers
In this presentation Dr. Marc Hillmyer will introduce the Center for Sustainable Polymers and give an overview of the current research portfolio aimed at the discovery of efficient and precision conversions of renewable raw materials into innovative polymeric products that outperform the current suite of non-sustainable polymers from performance, environmental, and cost perspectives.
