Using the National Air Quality Site Assessment Tool for Air Quality Conservation Planning at Dairies
This session will provide guidance to conservation planners and others on how to use NAQSAT, which was recently approved for NRCS use, to identify air quality resource concerns at dairies and similar (beef feedlot, horse, etc.) confined animal operations. The following will be covered: overview of NAQSAT and the NRCS-approved use requirements; demo of the use of the tool for dairy operations; and discussion on how to use the results from the tool to identify opportunities for air quality improvement. This is a three session webinar running Aug 11-13. Aug 12 topic Swine and Aug 13 topic Poultry.

The forum will feature special trainings, field trips, and breakout sessions focused on solid/hazardous waste management, brownfields, UST/LUSTs, Superfund sites, and emergency response. However, this year we will also be including breakout session tracks related to tribal water programs – water quality, drinking water, and habitat restoration (including wetlands, streams and fisheries). Agricultural Irrigation Management
The Current is a speed networking webinar series for professionals engaged in water-related extension, research, and conservation activities. The North Central Region Water Network and Extension Directors from all 12 North Central states are sponsoring the seven part series to highlight the best water-related research and Extension programming in the region. Webinars will run for 60 minutes, with three 10-minute project snapshots and 30 minutes of QA/peer-to-peer interaction.

TRNG: Thursday, August 20, 2015:
Food Waste Compost Training
Iowa Waste Reduction Center is hosting this composting training in Cedar Falls, IA. Composting is a prime example of recycling and waste reduction; taking waste, and turning it into a resource. But, there are many factors to consider when it comes to starting a compost operations. Please note there is a fee for attending this training.
