The Kansas Organization of Recyclers (KOR) and KDHE Bureau of Waste Management invite you to attend this event, the largest of its kind in Kansas. Along with networking opportunities and a rich exhibit hall experience, speak to the supervisors, managers, haulers, MRF operators, recyclers and local governments and nonprofits that drive participation in waste diversion programs.

WBNR: June 14, 2017 (12:00-1:00 pm)
Through field study with mid-scale hotels in Minnesota, an energy efficiency consulting firm investigated new opportunities for energy efficiency in the hospitality sector. The project team found an average of 13% electric and 13% gas savings across all hotels audited, in addition to significant water savings. Dive into these savings opportunities and learn about new technologies for pools and laundry, conventional energy efficiency technology with uniquely favorable paybacks, and information about rebates and benchmarking for the sector.

WBNR: June 29, 2017 (12:00-1:30 pm)

The Natural Resources Defense Council has teamed up with the Ad Council – the non-profit arm of the U.S. advertising industry that brought you Smokey Bear and Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive Drunk – to help change people’s behavior and waste less food. How is Save The Food going and where is it headed? This webinar will give a look into campaign activities and results thus far, upcoming campaign materials that you can use, and practical examples from partners on how they are leveraging the campaign on a local level.

An overview of the CBSM process; How the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College increased its recycling rate by 41% using the CBSM process; How to use the Tribal CBSM Training Guide; and; How to receive peer mentoring to develop your own CBSM project through the EPA National Tribal Waste Management Peer Matching Program.

The Sustainability Pavilion is a great place to reach out to State Fair guests with an activity, a “make & take” project, a demonstration, or a presentation.  The Sustainability Pavilion is focused on sharing with and encouraging the public to make better environmental choices.

P2 InfoHouse: This is a searchable online collection of more than 50,000 pollution prevention related publications, fact sheets, case studies and technical reports. It’s the largest single electronic resource for P2 information in the country.
