Midwest Food Recovery Agenda
Missed the Midwest Food Recovery? The good news is the summit’s webpages are not going anywhere. Each speaker now has their PDF next to their name and soon, links to videos will be available for each session!
CONF: September 19, 2017 (9:00 am-5:00 pm)
This one day workshop will lead to a better understanding of environmental risk management for businesses and how to reduce those risks with pollution prevention techniques . Although all medias will be covered, there will be an emphasis on wastewater treatment risks and mitigation. The day will combine lecture with hands on exercises to lead the group towards identification of specific practices they can undertake at their facilities to reduce risk. The fee is $150
EVENT: September 21-22, 2017
This 1.5-day symposium will feature Iowa-based and nationally-recognized speakers and discussion panels on a variety of drinking water issues facing the Midwest and the Nation.Some of the topics to be addressed include the Health Impacts of Nitrate in Drinking Water, Drinking Water Treatment Concerns, New and Emerging Drinking Water Threats, and Communicating with the Public on Drinking Water Issues.

WBNR: Sep 21, 2017 (11:00am-12:00 pm)
TURI created the original Pollution Prevention Options Assessment System in the mid 1990s to analyze chemical and equipment alternatives. P2OASys is one of the first hazard analysis tools to help small and mid-size businesses compare several chemicals and hazards . This webinar will provide an overview of the benefits of using P2OASys and a primer on its use.
WBNR: Sep 21, 2017 (1:30pm-2:30 pm)
Heartland businesses provide stories of the successes and savings achieved by using Pollution Prevention Interns for summer projects. These trained students bring expertise to increase efficiency, save water, energy, and materials, and save money. This webinar features several projects accomplished within the last few years by pollution prevention interns and the impact of the projects.

This program seeks innovative, environmental health-related research proposals from University of Iowa researchers eligible to apply for K or R01 grants from NIH. Due date TBN
These projects must involve long-term protection, restoration, enhancement and/or establishment of wetlands
